ASQ AIRPORTS COUNCIL INTERNATIONAL 2017 WINNER
Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (‘CSMIA’) has reached an extraordinary milestone by catering to 987 movements on a single day. CSMIA accommodated average 911 ATM’s per day in FY’18. CSMIA handled 24,543 passengers per Acre in FY18, maximum as compared to any other airport in the world. This could be achieved due to constant focus on improvement in operational efficiency. CSMIA has more than doubled its annual passenger intake from 22.2 million in FY’07 to 48.5 million in FY’18. We have welcomed 8 new airlines in FY’18.
Cargo business had shown exponential growth in FY 17-18. ‘Export Heavy & Bonded cargo Terminal’ spread over 7500 sqm with additional 3,00,000 mt capacity per annum was also made operational.
CSMIA was adjudged, for airport service quality by Airport Council International, as the best airport globally in the category of airports handling more than 40 million passengers per annum.
TRAFFIC PERFORMANCE
CSMIA achieves 7.4 per cent passenger growth in FY’18.
Passenger numbers have increased by 7.4 per cent to reach 48.5 in FY’18. This is an incredible increase of 3.3 million passengers compared to previous year.

During Q4-FY2017-18, Mumbai Airport welcomed 9 new retail outlets.
Flight 4 Fantasy, Gangour Sweets, WH Smith- Chocolate Boutique, William Penn, Bipha Ayurveda, Hamleys, Hidesign, Tibb’s Frankie and Indie Tapas.
In Flight 4 Fantasy passengers can take control and be the Pilot of an aircraft. Take off and land at more than 20,000 Airports around the world. A team of experienced Instructors will guide the passengers through their edge of the seat Flight Experience
WH Smith- Chocolate Boutique is our first of its kind initiative, excited to launch a new store format dedicated to chocolates and only to chocolates.
Bipha Ayurveda has Healthcare that's natural at heart. Free from SLS, preservatives, chemicals and parabens, and pH balanced, Bipha products are made from 100% natural ingredients.
Indie Tapas is a new concept serving Dosas and Idlis as well as kebabs and curries

MIAL participated in Mumbai Shopping Festival, the first of its kind shopping festival of Mumbai city. As part of various activities, a flash mob was organised at T1 and T2 where the dancers portrayed the life and culture of Mumbai, the city that never sleeps. The flash mob encapsulated various Mumbai based themes, including dabbawalas, Mumbai local trains and shopping.

Holi was celebrated with fun and fervour at Mumbai Airport. A special buffet in all lounges was served with extensive sweets bar and Thandai as Holi special.
International Women’s Day is celebrated on 8th March, 2018. A special campaign ‘surprise to women by the passengers’ was held at T2 domestic and international departures of Mumbai Airport. The passengers were asked to personally decorate a brownie and dedicate it to a special woman in their lives. The personalised brownie was hand delivered to the respective women along with a message from the passengers.

Mumbai Airport organised a special activity for the women travellers and employees in association with Radio Channel Fever 104 FM. A special get together and lunch was organised on 8th March at Travel Club Lounge, T1 and women shared their inspiring stories on their life and career.

Airport Services redefined Women’s Day by arranging for an inclusive session with the men and women of the team. Mrs. Aparna Reddy graced the occasion & interacted with the team on the challenges faced by women when they wear multiple hats. It provided an exclusive insight to new fathers on raising girls in today’s world, a son on how to treat their mothers, sisters & gave guidance to the men of the team on how they should be treating their women colleagues in today’s dynamic work environment.

Story telling is an art and it’s inborn in most women. Jaya He showcased that hidden potential amongst all women this Women’s Day with a Story Telling Session. Strangers came together to ignite their love for stories & art alike. Each person was moved to write their own tales, inspired from their surreal Jaya He experience. As mothers they have narrated stories to their children, however this time round it was for just themselves.

Jaya He hosted the Mumbai Instagrammers at T2. This is one of a kind initiative done by any airport. Every aspect of art was captured through their lenses. Also, renowned travel blogger The Quirky Wanderer covered the entire experience.

For the first time, influencers from the art world of Mumbai were taken through an exclusively curated tour of Jaya He Museum. The Airport Services Team kicked off the 5th year of operations with the launch of IMPRINTS Book by Mrs. Aparna Reddy.
This plethora of memories shared inside stories, special moments, and anecdotes of each team member’s journey with Pranaam & JayaHe over the last 5 years. While ex-employees who were a part of the founding team were not forgotten, while the enthusiastic new entrants were given the chance to share their aspirations for the coming years. The book was weaved together for the team to take back their work achievements home to their loved ones & take PRIDE in what they do.

The Kas Plateau is situated at the Sahyadri hills near Satara. At a distance of 37 km from Mahabaleshwar and 50 km from Panchgani, the Kaas Plateau, also known as the Kas Pathar, is a vast volcanic lateritic plateau. The name 'Kaas' originates from the Kaasa tree. This area comes under very high rainfall zone. Due to this, the flora and fauna of the region is quite unique. These unique ecological features make Kaas one of the hotspots of biodiversity. This plateau is well known for its unique biosphere, high hill plateaus and grasslands. During monsoon season, especially in the month of August, the plateau comes to life, with picturesque view of various types flowers that carpet the floor of the plateau. Kaas has more than 850 different species of flowering plants of which 624 are listed on the IUCN Red List. These include orchids, shrubs such as the Karvy, and carnivorous plants such as Drosera Indica. Towards the south of the Kas Plateau there is a wonderful lake, which is known as Kas Lake is just like a bowl carved out of the Sahyadri mountains. Further 30 Kms towards the south of Kas Lake are the backwaters of the Koyna Project.

By Air: Nearest metro airport is Mumbai. There are various rail and road transport options from Mumbai to kaas Plateau.

By Road: Mumbai-Satara is 255 kms. Buses operate regularly between both the cities.
