Garuda Indonesia Inaugural Event (12th December 2016)
Garuda Indonesia successfully commenced its 3 weekly, B737-800 operations at CSMIA, Mumbai on 12th December, 2016 connecting Mumbai-Jakarta.
What’s New at CSMIA
The inaugural flight witnessed various dignitaries from Indonesia such as the CEO of Garuda Indonesia, Mr. Arif Wibowo along with the senior officials from Indonesian Ministry of Tourism. The delegates, media from Indonesia and passengers on the first flight were welcomed by MIAL in the traditional Indian manner. The inaugural event was widely promoted on various platforms including the social media of both CSMIA, Mumbai and Garuda Indonesia.
Garuda Indonesia’s flight to India would only enhance the long term alliance between India and Indonesia with respect to tourism, trade, infrastructure and medicine. Mumbai, the financial capital of India, is a preferred choice to establish connectivity to Indonesia due to Mumbai’s conducive geographical location with extensive catchment area of more than 30 feeder cities, a thriving economy and growing tourism potential. Mumbai and its catchment contributes the highest passenger traffic to Indonesia with the potential of approx. 400 daily passengers each way. Going forward, it is anticipated that the route will be operated on a wide body with non-stop services between Jakarta and Mumbai.

Operating Rhythm
Operating Rhythm The Operations Team at MIAL is now following the principle of “Operating Rhythm” with almost 500 staff now having received a presentation and reference card explaining what Operating Rhythm is all about.
So what is it all about? An operating rhythm is about ensuring that vital activities are performed in a consistent manner to a high degree of excellence across the business and within the business. The key aim being to drive efficiency, effectiveness and performance.
Having an Operating Rhythm within the operation creates a clear purpose to improve communication and interactions that should be present between different departments that ensure operations are delivered as intended and to ensure the customer comes first and always receives an excellent experience through-out their journey.
Operating Rhythm is a model for WHAT we do & HOW we do it.
WHAT is about focusing on;
1. Operating at optimal COST and identifying ways of cost reduction.
2. Providing excellent SERVICE to our customers…..every day.
3. Never compromising on safety and regulatory COMPLIANCE.

Luckey Diwali (30th October 2016) - The ‘Luckey Diwali’, a Diwali Fest, was organized at CSMIA to provide the passengers with extra zest and fun during their holiday travel. The Fest comprised of three main activities namely ‘Luckey Vouchers’, ‘Spin the Wheel’ and customer engagement activities like caricature, tattoo and mehendi. Customers with the highest spend in Food & Beverages (F&B)/Retail were made to enter into a ‘Lucky Draw’ and the winner of the draw was awarded free airline tickets.
MIAL unveils new Export Heavy and Bonded Cargo Terminal (6th December 2016) - MIAL doubled its export handling capacity by adding 500,000 tons of cargo per annum with the opening of its new first-of-a-kind Export Heavy and Bonded cargo terminal.  The new terminal would support further growth in export volumes at CSMIA and will significantly the dwell time due to the implementation of dedicated channels for cargo admittance, X-ray screening and palletisation.
Christmas Special Flash Mob (23rd December, 2016) - MIAL partnered with ‘Happydemic’, to deliver a musical experience at Terminal 1 and 2. This event witnessed musical flash mobs taking place at various locations in Terminal 1 and 2. The performance line-up consisted of hand-picked artists from across the nation and the musical convoy comprised of 12 singers with 5 guitarists and 5 Cajon players. The aim of this musical was to provide an enchanting experience to travelers at CSMIA.
